TAHOE DOWNWIND Championships -Tahoe Waterman Paddle Racing 2023
When
Sat, August 26, 2023
Location
Watermans Landing, 5166 North Lake Boulevard, Carnelian Bay, CA
https://paddleguru.com/races/TAHOEDOWNWINDChampionshipsTahoeWatermanPaddleRacing2023
The Downwind and the short course invite all crafts (OC1, OC2), surf ski (1 and 2-person), stand-up paddleboard (SUP), and prone paddle-boards. Because it’s not unusual to see 25+ miles per hour winds gust on the lake when one of these storms hits the Sierra Nevada, the Downwind course is recommended for experienced paddlers.
The Short Course is inviting all paddlers and we are welcoming your four-legged friend to paddle with you. DOWNWINDER (9 mile - 15 km): The race format includes a downwind paddle from Kaspian Point/Blackwood canyon on the West Shore to Watermans Landing, in Carnelian Bay. Racers start in the water on their craft and finish on the water between finish buoys.
This race will take place in the afternoon for optimal downwind conditions SHORT COURSE (3 mile - 5 km): The race format includes one 3-mile, out-and-back, buoy-marked lap on the lake to Rocky Point. Racers start in the water on their craft and finish on the water between the finish buoys. GROM COURSE (1-mile - 1.6 km): The under-12 race is a 1-mile loop starting and ending at Watermans Landing.
